StoryCon, the Free Creative Conference for Teens, is Back!

Scottish Book Trust is happy to announce that, thanks to popular demand and the generosity of our funders, StoryCon is returning for the second year.

On June 24 and 25, in Central Glasgow, the teen writers & illustrators of What's Your Story? along with Scottish Book Trust and a range of creative professionals will host Scotland's biggest creative writing and illustration get-together for 13 - 19 year olds.

StoryCon is free, lunch is provided, and it is open to any and all teenagers living in Scotland who have a passion for creative writing and illustration. We have 200 spaces available across two days, and we’re looking forward to meeting as many of Scotland’s teenage creators as possible.

StoryCon 2017: the Details

This year’s workshops include: Writing for the Stage, Creating Great Villians, Writing in Gaelic, Zine Making, Spoken Word and Write That Fight. Check out the full list of workshops for more information. We're also excited to feature inspiring and interactive panels and keynote speeches about the reality of being a writer and illustrator in Scotland, whatever your age or ambitions. If you've got a question you always wanted to ask professional writers or illustrators, you'll get your chance at StoryCon.

StoryCon is designed and hosted by the team of teenage creative writers and illustrators at the heart of What’s Your Story? and is Scotland’s only national creative writing conference designed for teens, by teens. StoryCon is a chance for creative teens to meet each other, spend time with friendly professional writers and illustrators, develop their skills as writers and illustrators, and spend time as a community of young creators in a fun and welcoming environment.
