Following the loss of her 22 year old son in a car crash whilst travelling as a passenger, June, the owner of Your Event Scotland, realised that more support was needed for families of those killed or injured in car accidents.

Following talks and support from the Lord Provost and similar bodies with the aim to create a support group for those afflicted in such terrible tragedies, the group Don't You Forget About Me was formed.

Don't You Forget About Me's principle objective is to assist in the relief of the needs of people affected by road Traffic Accidents.

Their other aims include:

1)  Promoting the provision of supportive services of all kinds for people affected by a Road Traffic Accident.

2)  Promoting the provision of a telephone support service.

3)  Working in partnership with other bodies to achieve objectives.

Don't You Forget About Me is working closely with Aberdeen Safer Trust, which supports community safety projects and initiatives through grant funding and advice.

DYFAM and Sensible Driving - Always Arriving recently received a boost from chart-topping boy band, Scouting for Girls. Roy Stride of the band said, "We heard about the work of both these groups in trying to educate new and young drivers in the North and North East of Scotland and have had sight of some of their work. It is a credit to all involved that despite personal tragedies, they have come together to try and prevent further deaths or serious injuries on Scotlands roads. The material that they have produced is really first class".
