Autumn is significant in the area for spotting red squirrels, witnessing the clashing antlers of red deer in the annual rut and watching the record breaking spectacle of tens of thousands of barnacle geese arriving to winter on the Solway Firth. With over 50 events, many free and hosted by local wildlife guides and experts, the festival is perfect for families and wildlife fans.
