Fortingall Hotel has two AA rosettes and is an Eat Scotland recommended restaurant, thanks to head chef, Darin Campbell's imaginative work. Campbell has worked with top chefs such as Andrew Fairlie and Gordon Ramsay, going on to become head chef of the 2 star Michelin Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles. Darin gained a Michelin star in his own right at Ballachulish House before joining the team at Fortingall in 2008.
Fortingall Hotel has welcomed guests for over 100 years and has ten bedrooms for guests, all with luxury en-suite bathrooms featuring both baths and showers. It is available for exclusive use packages, weddings, plus gourmet food and wine weekends and experiences such as wild food foraging in the surrounding area.
Fortingall extends a warm welcome to non residents and passers-by who want to sample the fine dining or excellent gastro pub food in the cozy "Ewe Bar" attached to the hotel.
The hotel caters for field sports (dogs welcome), plus walkers and cyclists, with drying facilities for wet clothing, and secure storage for both guns and cycles. Guests can borrow from a selection of Hunter wellies complete with welly-warmers.
Fortingall hotel holds a full civil licence for wedding ceremonies within the building or the garden and is situated just fifty metres from Fortingall Kirk with its famous ancient Yew Tree in the churchyard.
Fortingall was awarded Best Small Country Hotel in 2007 and was runner-up in Scotland's Green Hotel of the Year category in 2009. It is one of only two hotels in Perthshire, alongside Gleneagles Hotel, to hold the Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
